The QR-Trophy mobile app, created for the 2012 launch of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
Before the official market launch we created an app and website to generate excitement and media buzz to draw attention to the new car. We turned the secret prototypes into a form of advertising media by plastering the vehicles with QR codes. Users could hunt down the cars and scan the codes to collect points and badges.
An animated film explaining the QR-Trophy concept was created for the landing page.
The QR-Codes could be scanned from cars on the street, in the press or on the web.
The first person to collect all QR-Trophy badges could win a trip to the A-Class premiere in Geneva.
